In a brand new preview clip for Monday night’s episode of Teen Mom 2, Jenelle Eason meets with her mom Barbara Evans soon after Hurricane Florence devastated the area. Thankfully, Jenelle and husband David Eason were doomsday prepping back when tensions were high with North Korea, so they were ready when the storm hit.
“We were really prepared,” Jenelle explains. “We were, like, no offense, but we were, like, doomsday prepping when the whole, you know, Kim Jong-un thing was happening. So, I mean, we’re prepared for anything.”
Unfortunately, it sounds as though The Land wasn’t “prepared for anything” because the hurricane caused some roof damage and a leak. “Our roof started leaking, and it was seeping down my walls,” she reveals to Barbara. “And now my floor is wet,” Jenelle continues. “Is my floor going to collapse next?”
Thankfully, the water damage was apparently covered by the couple’s insurance policy. “The insurance guy did come. He saw everything. They’re going to replace everything — fix it all.”
In addition to the high winds and heavy rain, Florence also brought Jenelle and David some drama as Nathan’s mother Doris tried to convince Jenelle to let her have Kaiser during the storm. “His mom told me, you know, ‘My house is safer for a hurricane than yours is, so Kaiser should come stay with us,'” Jenelle reveals to Barbara. “I was, like, ‘Kaiser will be fine here.’ And she’s, like, ‘Well, you know, we have a safer neighborhood, and blah, blah, blah.’ I was, like, ‘Kaiser will be fine here.'”
Barbara replied by pointing out “You couldn’t even get to her house anyways, the roads were all closed!”
“She’s trying to insinuate she can take better care of Kaiser during a hurricane than I can,” Jenelle says. This is when she explains that she and David were already doomsday prepping before the storm.
Jenelle also reveals that The Land was without power for 3-4 days, and due to issues with their water, the family took baths in their swimming pool. “I really felt like we were in a third-world country,” she says of the experience.
