REPORT Lamar Odom gives Khloe Kardashian an ultimatum, they are effectively separated
After reportedly dropping off the face of the earth for a three-day-long drug binge, Lamar Odom’s representative confirmed the NBA player is fine. However, the status of his relationship with Khloe Kardashian seems to be anything but.
According to TMZ, Khloe “effectively” separated from Lamar after he refused to seek help for a crack cocaine addiction.
So far, neither party has filed any legal documents. However, Radar Online reports Lamar is threatening to file for divorce if Khloe doesn’t let him move back home.
“Lamar is tired of living in hotels and is now threatening to file for divorce because he is tired of the situation,” a source told Radar.
The source added that Khloe hasn’t indicated whether or she is willing to work on the relationship, but TMZ is sharing a slightly different story: “Khloe is more concerned about saving Lamar than ending her marriage.”
The trusted gossip site added Khloe has carried the burden of hiding Lamar’s secret for two years — her sisters didn’t even know until recently. She reportedly only opened up about Lamar’s addiction to her family when reports of infidelity emerged earlier this summer.
Before that point, Khloe battled to help Lamar all on her own. She managed to talk him into a residential rehabilitation program last August, but had already lost so much faith in him that she hired private investigators to stand guard and prevent Lamar from leaving. Even then, Khloe was so desperate to keep Lamar’s addiction a secret that she told the investigators that he was stuck on performance enhancing drugs.
After three weeks in rehabilitation, Lamar checked out and began training for the NBA season. When that ended earlier this spring, he reportedly reverted straight back into his bad habits.
Now that Lamar is back where he started, Khloe is trying to take a different approach by showing tough love. So far, it seems that Lamar isn’t getting the point… Which has got to be painful for Khloe. But, as anyone who’s loved someone with an addiction knows, real change won’t happen until the addict fully commits to recovery.
