Former Disney star Christy Romano is now a married lady!
The actress wed screenwriter Brendan Rooney in front of 50 guests on New Year Eve. The ceremony took place at the Fairmont Banff Springs in Alberta, Canada.
“I went there when I was performing The Sound of Music in Calgary with Marie Osmond,” Christy, 29, told People. “It was such a magical feeling that stayed with me, so I wanted to recapture that on my wedding day.”
Christy orchestrated wedding prep, enlisting family to help make decorations.
For the big day, she wore a sleek Lazaro gown (as seen in this photo of her and the groom’s brother).
Following the ceremony, guests dined on tuna and avocado tartar, beef tenderloin and grilled prawns and a white chocolate wedding cake with raspberry filling.
Christy — also known as Christy Carlson Romano — is best-known for her role as Ren Stevens on Even Stevens. She has stayed busy ever since the show ended with voice-over work, Broadway shows and her own novel, Grace’s Turn. She’s currently earning degrees in film and women’s leadership at Columbia. It was during her studies at the university that she met now-husband Brandon.
