Newlyweds killed in head-on collision with each other

Newlyweds Killed in Collision

A Texas husband and wife were killed when their respective cars collided last Wednesday.

Nicolas Cruz, 31, and Kristina Munoz, 26, reportedly married last spring. According to The Times Record News, their two cars crashed on a county road near the Marhard Pullet Farm, where they were both employed. Emergency crews quickly responded, but the husband and wife were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither were wearing seat belts. Investigators later said speed and the road’s layout appeared to be factors.

“There was a curve in the road in a small crest of a hill. When they came to that hill they collided head-on,” said Texas State Trooper Tony Fulton. “This is a very narrow road, there’s no shoulder marking, there’s no center stripe. The troopers are still looking into it due to very little evidence that was in the road. The cars ended up in the ditch.”

Investigators also believe Cruz and Munoz were texting each other. They had three children.
