My Girl star Anna Chlumsky is pregnant with her first child
It always comes as a bit of a shock to learn that someone you only picture as a child is old enough to have a baby. At least, that was my first reaction upon reading that Anna Chlumsky of My Girl fame is expecting her first child with her husband, Shaun So.
“I’m feeling pretty good so far,” Chlumsky, now 32, told People. “I was really lucky — I did not have any morning sickness which was great because I was working.”
To most, Chlumsky will always be Vada Sultenfuss, Macaulay Culkin’s best friend in the 1991 hit My Girl. (She also starred in the 1994 follow-up, aptly titled My Girl 2.) In the time since then, she’s graduated from college, married and made spot appearances on TV shows. She now stars on the award-winning Veep, which airs on HBO.
Last night, Chlumsky displayed her growing bump on Watch What Happens Live, where she joked about her child star past. She also said her Housewives tagline would be, “I don’t need to be right all the time. I just happen to be.”
Filming for the next season of Veep just wrapped, so Chlumsky said she plans to read more pre-baby books.
“Most of the books have to do with how to have a worry-free pregnancy and keep the anxiety down.”
The baby is due this summer. Chlumsky and So intend to keep their child’s sex a secret until after the birth. Congrats to the expectant parents!
