LOVE AFTER LOCKUP Michael Simmons arrested, facing felony charge for cell phone theft
Love After Lockup and Life After Lockup star Michael Simmons was arrested on August 7 in Miami after warrants were issued in four separate criminal cases.
Two of the warrants stemmed from Michael’s February 24 arrest after he allegedly stole multiple credit cards from a United States postal service vehicle and was caught trying to use them at Pizza Hut and a local gas station.
One of the warrants was from a December, 2024 citation for knowingly driving on a suspended license with expired registration. Michael had a hearing in that case on August 6 that he failed to appear for.
The fourth warrant was from a felony theft case after Michael failed to appear in court on July 13. Exclusive details on that arrest are included below.
Michael Simmons is currently in custody at the Metro West Detention Center in Miami. It appears he is being held without bond.
Michael has a plea hearing in the felony theft case set for August 25. All three of the other criminal cases against Michael have a court hearing scheduled for September 29.

MICHAEL SIMMONS FELONY THEFT ARREST DETAILS
Michael was arrested on March 30 and charged with felony grand theft after he allegedly stole a cell phone from a man at an AT&T store.
According to the police report, Michael entered the store with his girlfriend Maria. (Yes, it is the same Maria that Michael left Sarah for and later had a child with.)
More from the police report:
Both the female and the subject [Michael] wanted to open an account with AT&T and provided their driver’s license. The subject wanted to switch his phone number as well and provided his cell phone number.
While the victim was processing the transaction, the subject took the victim’s phone without his permission.
The victim stated his phone was a Google 9 Pro Pixel XL worth $1,200, which makes the theft charge a felony.
Police later found Michael and Maria at their residence and Maria handed the phone over to an officer. Michael was arrested and transported to the police station.
“While at the station, the subject [Michael] stated he believed the phone belonged to his girlfriend and he accidentally took the phone,” reads the police report. “The subject was advised the CCTV footage was not consistent with his statement and he was charged accordingly.”
