AGE INAPPROPRIATE Kent Roller’s first son Roc ‘kidnapped’ & taken to Vietnam by birth mother

Age Inappropriate star Kent roller's son Roc was allegedly kidnapped by his birth mother in 2011 and taken to Vietnam.

Age Inappropriate couple Jay-Anne and Kent Roller share three children together under the age of five. However, Kent has an older child currently living in Vietnam who Kent says was kidnapped at the age of two months by his birth mother.

Kent has talked about his oldest son Roc at length on social media. He reveals the series of events that resulted in him and his first wife Melanie opting for surrogacy:

It began a few years after Melanie and I were married. We had big plans to raise a big family. We bought two houses, we moved all our parents in so there would be plenty of grandparents to help raise a lot of children.

Melanie got breast cancer. Chemo and radiation and lupron caused early menopause. We could never have our own children. It was devastating. I did not realize at the time how depressed I was. I hid it by working hard and pushing forward with business. I was running from my inevitable doom by not having anyone to pass on everything I had achieved, and no one there for me when I get old. The anger over my fate eventually caught up with me when I turned fifty and both Mel’s and my father died, all in the same year.

I went to Melanie and said “What are we doing, where are we going, is their nothing left of our family after us?”. I told her I still had a chance to have my own child, and I asked for her help and participation. She agreed, and in return for her support she would lose nothing that she had worked so hard for.

Kent and Melanie chose a Vietnamese woman who received her green card in 2017 after marrying a man who lived in Pennsylvania. The woman left her husband within a year of receiving her green card and she “wound up in Hawaii,” where she met Kent and Melanie.

The woman gave birth to Roc Sage Roller on September 10, 2019.

Things were as normal as they could be until the mother’s green card expired and the husband threatened to have her deported if she did not return to him. I supported a legal and methodical handling of all the affairs. Yet things got ugly when the husband, motivated by revenge, abducted Roc and took his wife back to PA on November 10, 2019. Days before the abduction, both the mother and the husband used their alleged legal marriage privilege to amend Roc’s birth certificate naming the husband as biological father. With birth certificate in hand, they obtained a passport for Roc, and by January 27, 2020 both mother and my son were in Vietnam.

At the time of Roc’s abduction, Kent shared a Facebook post detailing everything that was going on. Below is an excerpt:

She abducted him this morning at 8:06am while I was walking Shiba. There were no signs. No warnings. She took him and walked down the street as witnessed by the neighbors. No diapers, no formula, no clothes, no car seat. She left all his and her stuff behind.

Her plan is to take him to Vietnam in February, at five months old. Because of the health risks, I was against this, and that is where the tensions began. I am powerless both physically and legally to do anything. My calls and texts are blocked. It’s a holiday weekend. All I can do is hope she brings him back soon, and if not, then wait for the pending paternity and custody hearing and hope I prevail.

I filed for paternity and custody because of her insistence to take a newborn overseas. I also filed because my son’s mother is married to a man who brought her here on a marriage visa. That visa expires in seven days. To extend her visa, she planned to commit immigration fraud and claim my son is her husband’s. I could not convince her not to lie, so filing for paternity and custody was the only way to prevent my baby boy from being transported cross country and used for other people’s personal benefit.

There is a quirk in family law few people are aware of. A child belongs to the marriage, despite who the father is. Most paternity cases are filed when the married man suspects the child is not his, or the mother is seeking support from the biological father. The biological father is most often not wanting to be tested and then ordered to pay support. My case is the opposite. I have to pay to prove Roc is my son by getting a judgement acknowledging the positive paternity test already taken. Until that judgment is made, my son is legally my son’s mother’s husband’s. And even if so ordered by a judge, I may still not gain custody and may be ordered to pay support.

I’m in a dark place.

Kent and Jay-Anne continue to celebrate Roc’s birthday with his younger half siblings. Below is Kent’s post from 2023:
