Kim Kardashian and Kanye West went all out for their week-long Italian wedding extravaganza, so you can be forgiven for thinking they’d do something similarly decadent for their wedding anniversary. If the latest reports are to be believed, though, they went almost as far as possible in the opposite direction. Kim and Kanye simply jammied it up in their Hidden Hills mansion, snuggling in bed watching Troop Beverly Hills on DVR while a private bartender mixed them drinks.
The bartender, it seems, was also responsible for breakfast.
It was all piña coladas for the couple, as Kanye is allegedly a frozen drink fanatic, and a perfectionist to boot. Friend Theophilus Monk says Kanye has been known to “order three drinks because they didn’t make [the first one] properly…he makes his own menu.”
Sadly, though, the pregnant Kim Kardashian took her drinks without alcohol, and instead swilled mostly coconut water. But the couple’s filmic entertainment was her choice, so things sort of evened out.
It was the third try at anniversary celebrations for Kim and Kanye, who had to nix two previous plans for various reasons. Their original plan was to visit Africa, but that idea got deep-sixed a month before the date. According to Kim,
A good friend got us a safari for our wedding gift. [But] I think we’re just going to stay home and chill out. I feel like May is a really busy month for us so I think we just want to hang out and relax. Unless he has something planned, he always has something up his sleeve, he always has something planned, so I don’t put it past him to do something really special.
After that, Kanye did indeed have a whole Parisian trip planned, during which the couple would renew their vows beneath the Eiffel Tower. Kim’s morning sickness, though, necessitated something simpler.
