Khloe Kardashian illness: She assures fans her staph infection ‘is no joke’
The Khloe Kardashian illness that’s aroused sympathy and skepticism in equal numbers is “no joke,” according to the sick woman herself. Khloe took to Twitter to defend herself against claims that she’s faking a staph infection in order to duck criticism about her ongoing relationship with NBA All-Star James Harden…and her tumultuous back-and-forth with ailing husband Lamar Odom.
Earlier this week, Khloe surprised fans and delighted doubters when she was forced to cancel her Strong Looks Better Naked book tour–after picking up a staph infection due to her constant presence at Lamar Odom’s bedside. A friend of Khloe’s said that the reality TV star’s immune system stood no chance, since she’s simply overworked: between making sure Lamar gets the best medical care possible, promoting her newest endeavor, and gallivanting about with new beau James Harden, Khloe has been going at full throttle for weeks.
Which is also why, when she caught the infection and was ordered to bed, some observers wondered whether the illness was karma catching up to Khloe for calling off her divorce with Lamar, but still stepping out in public with Harden. Those allegations got the best of Khloe during a late-night, pill-fueled Twitter rant, during which she called Odom “the man who went against all our vows,” said “he wasn’t picking roses” in their relationship, and told haters to “f*ck off” and “get off my d*ck.”
Now, Khloe has responded to her detractors yet again–albeit with much less specificity. Just hours ago, she tweeted out a general update on her health and well-being:
Staph infection is no joke. Mine was exacerbated by stress which is not a great combo. I’m under great medical care&receiving tons of love!
