Kanye West’s Yeezus Tour postponed to protect ‘creative vision’
A tour bus carrying Kanye West’s tour equipment was involved in an accident yesterday. Although no people were harmed, technical equipment essential to The Yeezus Tour was damaged beyond repair — moving Kanye to postpone his concerts until he is able to regain his “creative vision.”
“As a result of this event, it is impossible to put on the show and The Yeezus Tour will be postponed until these essential pieces can be reengineered and refabricated,” Def Jam said in a statement. “Kanye West will not compromise on bringing the show, as it was originally envisioned and designed, to his fans.”
So far, Def Jam and Kanye have delayed concerts scheduled for Vancouver, Denver and Minneapolis. The Vancouver concert was initially scheduled for Oct. 20, but was canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Most fans were willing to forgive Kanye for the first date change, but are now losing patience.
“All I gotta say is, I’m really disappointed in Kanye,” one would-be concertgoer told Vancouver Sun, adding she and her boyfriend already paid a few thousand dollars for the concert, hotel rooms and flights.
The Yeezus Tour kicked off on Oct. 19. Prior to this accident, Kanye canceled another concert scheduled for Anaheim.
