As Kim Kardashian gears up to marry Kanye West, there’s been a lot of talk about how she’s been married a lot before. Kim herself seems to have been at one point a little smitten with collecting husbands. She once told Elizabeth Taylor that she wanted to be just like her, but was a few husbands and jewels behind.

From 2000-4 Kim was married to music producer Damon Thomas. A young Kim shocked her family by running off to Vegas to elope with Damon. “I got married because, I clearly was young and it wasn’t the best choice,” Kim said in a 2007 interview. In 2010 a report surfaced alleging that Damon had abused Kim and forced her to get plastic surgery and liposuction. Damon responded to these allegations by calling her a fame-wh0re.

Kim’s second marriage to NBA Basketball player Kris Humphries last only 72 days before she filed for divorce, but the divorce lasted over a year and the media coverage of the entire ordeal was more than insane. They started dating in 2010, and his proposal to Kim was filmed for Keeping Up With The Kardashians (Kanye’s proposal to Kim was also filmed for the show, and he outdid Kris’ rose petals by a long shot.) After an engagement period that lasted longer than the marriage itself (a whopping 90 days,) Kris and Kim tied in the knot August 20, 2011 in a lavish wedding that aired soon afterwards on E!. Billed as “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event,” the two-part special drew in an average of 4.4 million viewers. Three weeks after the special aired Kim filed for divorce on Halloween. The next day she wrote on her blog that while she “married for love,” she “got caught up with the hoopla. … I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn’t get off when now I know I probably should have.”

UPDATE: Kim and Kanye officially got married May 24, 2014 in Florence, Italy.
