Duggar family to hold memorial for 20th child Jubilee Shalom
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar received some very sad news when they discovered that Michelle had suffered a miscarriage of baby #20 during the 2nd trimester of pregnancy. This discovery came during a routine ultrasound when their daughter, due to be born in April, was found to no longer have a heartbeat.
The doctor advised 45-year-old Michelle to let the miscarriage occur naturally so she returned home and let her many children take care of her. Following the miscarriage last night, Michelle started feeling lightheaded and was taken to the hospital. Michelle was kept overnight for precaution and is doing well according to a family spokesperson. She is expected to return home tonight.
The family held a private service in their home for Jubilee on Sunday and will hold a public service for family and friends on Wednesday.
Jim Bob told People:
“We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, emails and outpouring of love. As our whole family is grieving, we also know that God promises to work all things for good in our lives. Our prayer is that Jubilee’s passing will help us all realize that this life is short, and our relationship with Jesus is the most important thing. He gives us a peace in our hearts as He guides us through whatever we might face.”
While this news was extremely difficult the family also celebrated a very special milestone as the youngest of the 19th children, Josie, turned 2 on Saturday. Baby Josie was born premature at just 25 weeks at a mere 1 lb., 6 oz. but has developed normally with no lasting impairments.
