Details on Angelina Jolie’s wigs, diet, and fitness training for Salt: Is she too skinny for action movies?

Angelina Jolie’s action-spy flick Salt is full of high-impact scenes that required a lot physically from the rail-thin Hollywood queen. Of course, the hard-core stunts had to be done by her stunt-woman Eunice, but Jolie did a lot of running, jumping, and clinging to building herself.

In order to get strong and quick for her fight scenes without losing weight her trainer Simon Crane had her on a 70% carbohydrate and 30% protein diet while she practiced a combination of Muay Thai and Krav Magha. This diet and routine must have kept her fit and sinewy for clinging to walls, rolling over bridge walls,  jumping from semi to semi, and killing everyone in sight.

However, many don’t buy the fact that she performed almost all of her own stunts, for two reasons. The first? Insurance companies simply don’t allow the high profile and high dollar stars to put themselves in any kind of real danger. The second reason? Angelina Jolie looks waaay too thin and lacking in developed muscle to actually pull off these feats. A New York based personal trainer named Kenville John told PopEater that Jolie’s thin frame is a “body that’s breaking down. This has gone too far. I just don’t think she possesses the physical strength to perform like that.”

Jolie also relied on the use of a number of wigs to switch her identities as she ran from U.S. authorities and carried out her preposterous plans. She started off as an unconvincing blond when she was a happily married United States C.I.A. agent hoping to get out of the field and land a desk job:

She then moved to a darker look when she took on her double-agent persona:

Explosions happened, and so she traded in for a dusty-looking wig:

This movie is pure ridiculousness: logic and believability are completely missing from this popcorn flick (and from Angelina’s wigs), but it is fun watching Angelina run, fight, switch allegiances, and repeatedly jump to her death.
