Courtland Rogers heroin video released in wake of Hoffman overdose
Back in October, Jenelle Evans’ estranged husband Courtland Rogers attempted to sell a video of himself shooting up heroin to Radar Online. At the time the website merely described what was seen on the clip but stated in their post that, “The desperate husband of Evans pleaded with RadarOnline.com to purchase the video — an advance we flat out refused.”
When the story first broke, there was some back and forth about the validity of the clip including additional videos shared by Evans which she claimed showed Rogers relapsing and that he in turn argued were just fakes to make money.
Rogers eventually went back to jail after relapsing and now Radar has had a change of heart in regards to releasing the video. The site explained that they are sharing it as a non-glamorized look at what heroin addiction looks like in the wake of the deaths of Cory Monteith and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Here’s the just over 2 minute clip – be warned that it does show the graphic use of a needle:
–
In the clip, Rogers is seen inside a car mixing up the drug in a small cap and then injecting it via needle into a vein in his arm. After injecting the drug he says, “Now I’m officially high as hell.” Rogers is now out of jail and claims to have kicked the habit during his recent incarceration.
He told Radar:
“Heroin gave me the most euphoric high. It was the feeling of finally being loved by something. It got to the point where I had to have it … where I would do anything in the world to feel that high and not get sick. In the past six months, I have lost four friends to heroin. That is four families without their loved ones, one being my own cousin. It overpowers you and takes you away from everything! It kills. After a while, you do it just to not get sick. You don’t even get high anymore, it’s just not to get sick. Life with it is insane! You disappear from reality and forget about everything except getting high.”
He added, “My life without it in it makes complete sense. I don’t have to do it to stay alive now and I can actually live my life to the fullest without any drugs.”
Rogers just tweeted:
That video was from October…I was out of it and my mind was definitely not right!! I'm sorry for anyone that watches that …
