Original Teen Mom couple Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra appear to be heading towards that storybook happy ending fans of the show have been wanting for them ever since the fan-favorite middle school sweethearts made us all bawl when they placed their daughter Carly for adoption on their episode of 16 & Pregnant more than five years ago. It was revealed back in May that Catelynn is pregnant again with the couple’s second child, and earlier this month it was announced their wedding is back on.
In addition to all that good news, Catelynn and Tyler will also be returning for a brand new season of Teen Mom some time in early 2015! And Teen Mom isn’t even the only reality show they are returning to as this Thursday we will get to see them both on the Couples Therapy With Dr. Jenn Reunion Special along with former co-star (and former nemesis) Farrah Abraham!
While in California for the Reunion, the two reality stars (why don’t we have a celebrity super couple nickname for these two yet? How about Cateler? I guess it’s either that or Tylynn lol) sat down with VH1 and talked about the pregnancy and their wedding:
“I’ve been feeling good,” Catelynn says of being pregnant again. “No morning sickness or anything.” But it hasn’t been completely trouble free. “Now I’m starting to break out and get weird rashes and stuff.”
“We’re hopeful,” Tyler starts before correcting himself, “I’m hoping it’s a boy because they say online that if she breaks out in hives [that it’s because of the testosterone].”
Tyler then says the two of them are planning a gender reveal party with a pinata filled with either blue or pink confetti, which they did a couple of weeks ago. (Click here to watch the video and find out the sex of Tyler and Catelynn’s baby!)
“Overall the feedback has been really, really good,” Tyler says. Catelynn adds, “Yeah, everybody’s super excited for us.”
So what was the moment like when they found out Catelynn was pregnant again? As it turns out, that’s a trick question because it wasn’t just a “moment,” it was a rather prolonged event. “I took four pregnancy tests,” Catelynn says. Tyler chimes in, “Four. Yeah, that was a crazy morning.”
“We were excited. And then we got nervous. And now we’re excited,” Catelynn says. “The first two pregnancy tests I took were, like, really cheap ones. And so — and the lines were, like, really faint on them,” she explains. “I showed Tyler and he was, like, ‘No, that’s not right,” and I was, like, ‘No! this line is
Tyler then reveals, “We planned the pregnancy, and then we kind of said, ‘Well maybe we should hold off and get married first,’ you know? ‘And let’s focus on the wedding,’” Catelynn interjects, “And then BOOM!” before Tyler continues, “Then BOOM, it was already too late.”
“I think at first we were really excited,” Tyler says, “and then all of a sudden, like, “Aw crap!’ Like, now this is real! Now we’ve got to start planning it and all that kind of stuff.”
So does Tyler feel they are prepared this time around? “Doing what we did with Carly when we were 16, it’s almost like we’ve been preparing for that right time…OK, now it’s our turn to start a family.”
So when can fans expect the new addition? “I’m due around January 11th,” Catelynn says, “which is crazy because the day after, January 12th, is Tyler’s birthday. So, I think that would be cool.”
Yes it would!
