One of the lead roles in one of the most anticipated movies has been cast. Daniel Craig is officially saying goodbye to Bond and hello to Swedish journalist Mikael Blomkvist in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Deadline reports.

This looks like a smart choice over other rumored contenders like Brad Pitt and George Clooney, whose faces are too pristine to play the lead male character. Blomkvist is a lady-charmer if there ever was one, but his sexual-attraction comes from his intelligence, confidence, and inherent good nature, not necessarily from drop-dead beauty. Not that Daniel Craig isn’t just plain hot, but he’s more of a Hollywood answer to Mikael Blomkvist.

The actual girl with the dragon tattoo, Lisbeth Salander, is still being cast. There was a rumor that Kristen Stewart was in the running, but according to Deadline there’s a long list being considered: Ellen Page, Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland), Emily Browning (Sucker Punch), Sara Snook (Sleeping Beauty), Rooney Mara (The Social Network) and Sophie Lowe (Blame).
