Nathan Griffith’s mom Doris and Jenelle Eason take Kaiser custody battle to mediation

Jenelle Eason and Nathan's mom Doris Davidson batlle for custody of Kaiser

Nearly five months after Nathan Griffith’s mother Doris Davidson filed an emergency custody order for Nathan and Jenelle Eason’s son Kaiser, we finally have an update!

Jenelle scoopologist The Ashley is revealing that both parties have agreed to take the custody battle out of the court system and have instead opted for mediation. “Basically, Doris is backing down,” The Ashley’s source says. “Doris is hoping to get Jenelle to agree to make a schedule for Kaiser.”

In case you missed it, Doris filed the emergency custody order on September 1, and in the filing she alleged that Kaiser had been abused while in the care of mom Jenelle Evans and her fiancé (at the time) David Eason. In addition, Doris also confirmed earlier reports that Jenelle and David’s daughter Ensley tested positive for THC (The active ingredient in marijuana) when she was born.

Jenelle issued a statement in response to the emergency custody order in which she claimed that her mother Barbara Evans played a big part in the filing:

Our lawyers are talking today. Doris made accusations but I can tell you that Barbara has a lot to do with them… Doris threw her own son under the bus by admitting that he has pending felonies and possibly on drugs. Her emergency filing was against me and Nathan Both. I can tell you that they are allegations, driven by my mom, and she didn’t get her emergency custody. That speaks for itself.

Barbara later spoke with Radar Online and expressed solidarity with Doris, and that combined with antagonistic comments online inspired a frustrated Twitter tirade from Jenelle, beginning with her reaction to someone telling Jenelle she is not “doing good:”

“You aren’t doing good” well damn for people trying to take my kids away I’m doing a damn good job preventing that. ?

Oh let’s not care to mention how you guys call CPS so many times they even have a copy of my book now and love to visit so thanks! ???

Yes, CPS has been here and case closed every time. There’s a lot they are concerned about with the OTHER parent. This is why it was a “race” to court. My son was not being treated right on his visits so when I expressed that… it was a race to court. We are handling this the best way we can as a family. David is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and my mother can’t seem to get over that… she going to tell you all EVERYTHING she can that’s bad in any way about David to ruin his reputation becuz I completely cut her out so she’s lashing back at me by posting articles and selling stories about her own daughter because it’s a scream and cry for attention but I don’t care. ??

Now she’s going to also bring up evidence of the past that would have been used against me in court and giving all the info to my exs mom. She doesn’t have a damn thing to do with my kids either… she knows nothing about my life and hasn’t visited since MARCH! Doesn’t ask ?

And I will share to all my fans that I’ve been extremely depressed and upset. Please just let me be at this time.

Just let me be happy. ?

My guess is that the mediation decision was motivated by two things: Jenelle (and David) being fearful of having any and all of their past issues brought up in court, and Doris realizing that a grandparent gaining custody of a child is a hard battle to win. I am sure we will learn more about the decision to go through mediation on future episodes of Teen Mom 2! (Probably in the form of Jenelle telling a friend how frustrated she is as she receives a call from Nathan.)
