The legal fallout continues after Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith’s split. Ahead of the couple’s court appearance in their heated custody battle over son Kaiser, Nathan’s attorney announces the larceny charges filed by Jenelle against Nathan in January have been dismissed.
“They went to mediation today and the state will be filing a dismissal in court,” Nathan’s attorney Megan Milliken tells Radar Online. “The case has been dismissed.”
Given that the dismissal was the result of mediation, I assume that Jenelle will also get something out of the deal — perhaps a dismissal of the assault charges filed by Nathan’s girlfriend Jessica Henry after the now-infamous water glass tossing incident? We will have to wait and see.
UPDATE – We reached out to a source close to the situation who reveals that the stipulation for the charge being dropped is that Nathan must pay Jenelle $300 for Kaiser’s clothes taken and not returned. We’re told Nathan has until Monday to pay up or the charge will remain in place.
In case you missed it, Jenelle filed the charges after she returned from a Florida vacation with current boyfriend David Eason to discover that Nathan had taken their car from the airport long-term parking lot. Nathan’s name was on the title of the car along with Jenelle’s, so he was not charged with grand theft auto.
However, Jenelle claimed that she had close to $1,000 worth of possessions in the car, including a car seat, bracelet, tanning lotion, and clothing. She pressed larceny charges against Nathan for theft of those possessions and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Nathan turned himself in on February 3 and added one more mug shot to his growing collection.
Meanwhile, Jenelle and Nathan continue to gear up for their custody battle showdown. After missing her scheduled mediation orientation meeting in March, Jenelle will make it up with a meeting today.
