A recent item in Star magazine got Sarah Silverman a little riled up. Her relationship with Welsh Masters of Sex star Michael Sheen went public in February, and she even thanked him in her Emmy acceptance speech, but she wants to be clear that she’s never going to be interested in marriage.
The tabloid headlines proclaimed that Sarah “wants a ring,” when she found to be bigoted. “The Jew girl MUST want a RING! Yich,” she tweeted.
This morning she stopped by Howard Stern, who wanted to challenge her assertion that she would never marry. “What if he said, ‘Listen, I know you’re not into it, I want to put it out there, Sarah, I love you, I want to be married to you, because I want to say to the world that you’re my wife. I want you to be my wife. I want to tell every single person on the planet how madly in love I am with you.’ What would you say to that?” Stern said.
“I’d say ‘Tweet it!’ Why do we have to get the government involved in our love? It’s weird!” Sarah maintained. Stern also questioned her on if she felt insecure because Michael Sheen was previously in a 8-year relationship with the gorgeous Kate Beckinsale, which whom he has a daughter, 15-year-old Lily. “I think that puts pressure on you to look good,” Stern told the comedian.
Silverman was enthusiastic about Beckinsale’s beauty, but explained that she’s not jealous. “It’s more like, ‘Look at all these beautiful women and he loves me,” she said. “It’s more like that, like, ‘Wow!'” Sheen has also dated the lovely Rachel McAdams, but it sounds like Sarah has the right attitude by not comparing herself to her beau’s exes.
