VIDEO 50 Cent signs Jersey Shore’s DJ Pauly D to G-Note label

Pauly D with 50 Cent at the G-Note announcement party

Jersey Shore‘s resident DJ Pauly D announced a while back he was working on a project with 50 Cent and apparently the rapper liked what he heard because he has officially signed Pauly to his G-Note record label!

The label had a party over the weekend to celebrate the announcement and Pauly D sat down with 50 Cent for a brief video interview with the Associated Press:

Pauly: Unbelievable! I still can’t believe I’m here right now. I’m from Rhode Island, the state’s this big – 50 Cent, man this is crazy for me!

50 Cent: I did watch it [Jersey Shore], I watched it all the time. You know when they give – you know how when you’re in a boy band or like in a big group, like you were in Destiny’s Child and then, “BAM!” there you go, you’re Beyonce? Or you’re like in the group and then “BAM!” there goes Justin Timberlake? OK, it was Jersey Shore and then “BAM!” There you go, Pauly D!

Pauly D: I like that! My whole life, before we even met, I had a poster in my room – it’s of G-Unit, it’s of him, and I was always inspired by that poster, and never did I ever think I’d ever be working with the guy. But, I’ve been playing his music my whole entire life, respected his hustle, he’s a business man and I respect that. I look up to him.

So what can we expect on Pauly D’s debut effort? He talked with Billboard back in August when news first broke that he was working with 50 Cent and he said “It’s going to be a little bit of everything. It’s almost like DJ Khaled and kind of David Guetta, but my own DJ Pauly D style.”

Either way, it’s bound to be a million times better than fellow (former) Jersey Shore star Angelina Pivarnick’s debut single, “I’m Hot” Oof.

Can’t wait for the new album to drop but still need your Pauly D fix? Then head over to iTunes and grab his new game/app “Beat That Boardwalk!

BTW, if that headline didn’t read as complete gibberish to you, congratulations! You are officially not unhip!
