NBC’s American Idol competitor The Voice premieres this Tuesday and today the network released a preview clip featuring the four judges (Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine) performing the Gnarls Barkley smash single “Crazy” and it’s really, really horrible AWESOME!
Perhaps it’s due in large part to the fact that “Crazy” is one of the best singles of the last 10 years, but I was blown away by how enjoyable Adam and Blake were kicking off the tune! I knew Christina and Cee Lo would bring it on the song, but I had concerns that Adam and Blake would have some difficulty with a vocal-driven R&B style pop tune. Well, I think I was craaaaaazeee!
Throw in the fact that I’ve written off this season of American Idol after the Pia Toscano fiasco and all of a sudden I find myself really excited about the premiere! – I love the new concept of coaches and teams and as I’ve mentioned before I think the judges’ table is the best one ever assembled for this type of show. Blah, blah, blah… Tuesday night at 9/8c on NBC folks!
