As the last of the original two and a half men on the CBS show, Jon Cryer’s making bank — to the tune of $2 million per month. Now, ex-wife Sarah Trigger says Jon should pay more child support because their son looks like Oliver Twist in comparison to classmates.
In legal documents submitted to a family court judge, Sarah claimed Jon’s child support payments for son 13-year-old Charlie should increase from the $8,000 per month Jon currently pays to $88,969. Although Sarah and Jon divorced in 2004, the contract was amended in 2011. Since then, Sarah said she’s assumed custody of their son a larger portion of the month than when the contract was drawn.
Sarah says Charlie’s been ridiculed by peers because of his meager allowance. She specifically mentioned Charlie’s at a disadvantage because he can’t afford the same summer camps as his friends. He also can’t go on “exotic vacations in the summer and winter like Europe and Thailand.” And don’t even get her started on Bar and Bat Mitzvahs…
“Last year there were multiple Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs all with custom invitations, a dress code and huge private receptions afterward,” Sarah said, adding the pressure’s also on when it comes to birthday parties.
Legal sources say it’s unlikely Sarah will get the 1000 percent increase she requests… But Charlie will likely be able to afford a European vacation or two once the dust settles.
