Sofia Vergara prepares for motherhood by freezing her eggs

Sofia Vergara and her fiance Nick Loeb are moving forward with the baby making process. Just a few weeks ago, it was reported that Sofia and Nick had chosen a surrogate to carry their baby and now, it looks like they are taking the next step. Sofia has one child from her previous marriage but she’d love to have one with Nick as well — especially since he has no children of his own. While her busy career doesn’t allow for a pregnancy, Sofia is comfortable taking another route.

“I have to be careful what I eat because they’re freezing my eggs!” Sofia revealed to Vogue Magazine in a new interview. “Hormone pills, and then after that it is hormone injections. They want to get as many eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they’re not good. They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones.”

While Sofia didn’t confirm or deny that she’s freezing her eggs to be used for her surrogacy plan, it seems to fit the bill.

As for what her son Manolo, 21, thinks of her having more children, he is completely on board. “Sometimes he used to scream at me when he was younger: ‘Why can’t you have another baby, so you can stop focusing on me?'”Sofia laughs.

While frozen eggs are said to be usable for up to ten years, they are typically used within the first five. So far, no word on when Sofia intends to put her eggs in motion.
