REPORT Teen Mom 2 cancelled by MTV after season 5B
Well-placed sources say MTV is pulling the plug on Teen Mom 2 after this season.
“There is no season six of Teen Mom 2,” a production source told Radar Online. “Season five is the girls’ last season.”
Another source clarified to The Ashley — who is reliable with these kinds of stories — MTV is currently filming new scenes that will be added to the end of the fifth season.

“There are going to be 25 episodes total in Season 5, which is just ridiculous,” the insider said. “It all comes down to money, and adding another official season would mean re-contracting all of the show’s workers and the stars.”
With the 5A and 5B format, fans can expect to see a mid-season reunion show, followed by more episodes and a final reunion.
The sources who spoke with Radar and The Ashley said the cancellation has nothing to do with ratings, which remain consistently high.
Stars Jenelle Evans, Chelsea Houska, Leah Calvert and Kailyn Lowry-Marroquin haven’t responded to cancellation reports yet. Although all of the ladies are pursuing separate careers and making identities for themselves beyond Teen Mom 2, we can imagine this news is bittersweet. (From our perspective, it’s just bitter… We’ve truly appreciated these ladies’ willingnesses to open their lives to viewers for the past four+ years. Tuesday nights won’t be the same without them!)
This also signifies the end of the Teen Mom franchise in general: Teen Mom ended in 2012 after four seasons. Due to low ratings, Teen Mom 3 was cancelled after one season — which makes it unlikely MTV would give a fourth show to new 16 and Pregnant stars.
Will you be sad to see Teen Mom 2 end?
