PHOTOS Breaking Amish’s Kate Stoltz models swimsuits with androgynous model Rain Dove
On tonight’s episode of Breaking Amish: Return to Amish, Mary Schmucker continues to struggle to adapt to Kate Stoltz’s New York lifestyle (humza and weed anyone?). As difficult as it is for Mary to get used to riding in limos, eating healthy and attending fashion shows, imagine her trying to comprehend Kate’s photo shoot from earlier today in which she not only wore a super-skimpy, super-sexy array of bikinis, but she also posed with androgynous super model Rain Dove!
But before we get to Rain and Kate, we should focus on just Kate. She posted the photo above along with the tweet, “A little #bts #BehindTheScenes sneak peak.”
Kate then shared this next picture on instagram and acptioned it, “A little fun in the sun before tonight’s episode of #returntoamish with photographer @nomifoto and val, photo cred @raindovemodel , who is also with @majormodelsny”
If you’ll notice, Rain is showing off one of her many skills in that picture by serving as the photographer. (Her instagram ID is @raindovemodel) But that was just some between shooting fun — Rain was there to model! Here are Kate and Rain being bikini bosom buddies together in an instagram photo posted by Rain followed by her caption:
“Frolicking on the beach with @kate_stoltz (from Breaking Amish) as she “breaks” into the swimsuit season with a luxurious Long Island beach shoot in the sunny sand. We are beoth signed at the same agency, yet are SUCH different looks. Its amazing! Photographer was @nomifoto and mua was Val. Great job everyone!”
Rain then shared another pic and another description:
“As a well-known genderbending model… Im used to be the person people stare at when they don a bathingsuit. However today- it was the lovely model @kate_stoltz… and for good reason. That beach crowd didnt stand a chance today. And neither did I. #frolic #swimsuitillustrated #beachbabes #fashion #model #genderf*ck #happy #littlemermaid #raindove”
And in case you’re wondering how that body (Yes, those are her real boobs) is also able to pull off being a male model, check out this shot from her/his portfolio:
And another where the ace bandages are obviously working overtime:
So what is Rain’s story? She hails from Newark, VT and later moved to Denver, CO where she became a wilderness firefighter. I’ll let her bio from the Throw Like A Girl webseries site pick it up from there:
After a firefighting stint gone awry, Rain Dove vowed to pursue her dreams in lesbian-ness, education, and film thusly leaving smoking CO and silent VT behind for a better life in the greener pastures of CA. After a couple years of running a landscaping company, catering collective, and community action group- Rain Dove finally relented to the world of film for good.
Rain Dove’s work in film ranges from producing on several music videos including for Lila Rose and IamamIwhoamI. To embracing extras roles in Me,Myself,& Irene, L-WORD, and Fruitvale. She has acted alongside Claudia Christian (Babylon 5) in the film Madame San Francisco, is featured as the lead role in the apocalyptic series the Katalyst as well as in the Ron Howard Project Imagination film “Going Somewhere”. Several of her shorts, community promotionals, prank projects, and more can be found online via SF Impact Films. She has also had the privilege of working for the Food Network as a chef for cooking show celebs such as Bobby Flay and Rachel Ray. As well as such she walks several runway shows in SF modeling both women’s AND men’s attire.
Basically, Rain Dove is an all around film loving, community hugging, overly active dork who seeks nothing more than to be involved in things that make a difference. She is very excited to be a part of this production and can’t wait to bring some queer comedic joy to the hearts of those gay, straight, & questioning.
So does Rain identify herself as transsexual? She answered that question on her blog in a post about a casting call for a menswear modeling gig in which the casting people hoped to skirt potential legal problems by getting Rain to say she was trans. “No,” Rain said, though she knew it would probably cost her the job. “I’m doing it because I have a square jawline and like pizza too much to have a size 2 ladies physique. But I was born biologically a woman and that’s how I identify.”
Oh what I wouldn’t pay to see Rain and Mary hanging out together, sipping vodka and cranberry juice and eating meat out of a jar! And I’d pay a little extra for Jeremiah to walk in on it. 🙂
