Oprah Winfrey and John Tesh, say it ain’t S-Oprah.

Kitty Kelly’s tell all book Oprah – A Biography is set to hit the shelves on Tuesday April 12th. There has been a tremendous amount of buzz around this book and now the buzz is a full on roar as New York Daily News is reporting that in the book Kelly claims that Oprah was romantically involved with none other than new age music legend and former Entertainment Tonight host John Tesh! Kinda gives new meaning to showing someone your “O” face!

Let’s play a little 70’s theme music before we proceed:

Oprah and Tesh (hold on – just writing that I threw up in my mouth a little bit) were both working for rival news stations in Nashville, TN during the mid 70’s.  Not only did the two bound-for-superstardom kids have a fling but Tesh lived for a while with Oprah in her apartment.  If only walls could talk, they would say, “someone make it go away!”

Sadly, (actually not so sadly, not at all) the romance ended when Tesh bolted one night unable to cope with the “social pressure” of being in an interracial relationship.  Tesh was all Ron Burgandy about the whole thing:

“He said one night he looked down and saw his white body next to her black body and couldn’t take it anymore.  He walked out in the middle of the night.  He told me he later felt very guilty about it.”

To borrow and slightly alter a line from Anchorman: “Stay classy Nashville!”

Here’s an a oldie but goodie from Oprah Winfrey’s TV journalism days.  Oprah comments on Boy George and then narrates a little George W. Bush (then Vice -President) bowling spill.  It’s actually a telling clip when she tells her co-host, who I actually think IS Ron Burgandy, that they will get Boy George on the show, he laughs but Oprah is dead serious.  Even then, Oprah set her sights high:

In the end this should be a great thing for Oprah, now everyone can quit nagging her on how uninteresting and lame Stedman is.  Stedman is way more hip than John Tesh!  Stedman Graham Upgrade, there ain’t no holla back Tesh!  Neither Oprah or Tesh are commenting on the alleged romance at this time.
