Sometimes elaborate, romantic marriage proposals aren’t like in the movies

In a scene straight out of a romcom, a young man went all out for her paramour, just to get squashed by the overbearing pressure of the elaborate moment.

Clearly, he’s watched too many movies starring Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon, etc. and he thinks that the thing that will most win over a lady’s heart (especially one with which you probably haven’t already discussed marriage,) is to give her a speech in the middle of a mall food court about how you like the way she eats a cupcake and purrs on the couch. Follow that up with an out-of-tune rendition of “Sweet Caroline” (with the entire food court singing backup,) and you’re sure to get a yes when you whip out the diamond solitaire? Right?

To quote an onlooker “That is brutal.” The guy does have a second option: The Cinnabun Lady said she’d marry him.

The lesson to be learned here is to not try things you see at the movies at home. Especially romantic comedies. Action movies, Jackass movies, maybe, but never romantic comedies.
