LOVE AFTER LOCKUP LaTisha Collier released from prison on appeal bond
Life After Lockup star LaTisha Collier has been released from prison after posting an appeal bond, according to VINE.
Last week, LaTisha was sentenced to concurrent 15-year-prison sentences for theft and forgery. She was placed under arrest and booked into the Scott County Jail. LaTisha was transferred from the Scott County Jail into the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections on Wednesday.
Earlier today, LaTisha “was released on appeal bond from Iowa Correctional Institution for Women,” according to VINE.
Court records confirm a cash bond in the amount of $10,000 was posted on Wednesday.
Being released on appeal bond means that LaTisha has paused the start of her prison sentence until there is a ruling on her appeal. It’s unclear if her apparent pregnancy may have impacted the judge’s decision to allow an appeal bond.
UPDATE – Not long after LaTisha was released, she was back on social media. “My husband posted that bond and came and got his wife from the joint🤌🏽,” LaTisha wrote on Facebook. “I’m home with my family 🫶🏽🙌🏽.”

LaTisha filed a Notice of Appeal on Monday. The next step for LaTisha will be filing an appellant’s brief.
How long will LaTisha’s appeal take? According to the Iowa Judicial Branch, the initial stages (including the filing of briefs and court assignment) can take five to six months. After the case has been assigned, “the court strives to provide decisions within three to six months.”
Using those timelines, it appears LaTisha’s appeal could take 8 months to a year.
If LaTisha is currently pregnant, the 8-12 month estimate on the appeal process would allow for her to give brith prior to having to serve her prison sentence.
