Lil Wayne released from the hospital
Lil Wayne spent the majority of the last week in the Intensive Care Unit at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Wayne was admitted into the hospital on Wednesday after being found unconscious by his bodyguard. By Friday, he was placed in an induced coma and taken to the ICU where he spent about four days. The circumstances surrounding his hospitalization seemed dire and TMZ’s reported claimed that his family and friends were at his bedside in tears as if he were on the verge of death. His friends and family took too social media to refute that his situation had ever gotten that bad. Fortunately, Wayne has pulled through and has since been released.
TMZ reports, “Wayne is feeling weak but he’s a lot better. He plans on laying low until he makes a full recovery.” Still, fans don’t know exactly what happened.
Wayne, who has a history of seizures, also has a history of drug use and some claim that an overdose is what led to the series of seizures he suffered on Tuesday which resulted in his hospitalization that night. According to TMZ, Wayne had been shooting a music video with Nicki Minaj on Tuesday when he first began seizing. At that point, he visited Cedars-Sinai but was released hours later.
Once he arrived back home, he was fine for a few hours but was then found unconscious by his bodyguard and was taken to the hospital a second time. After doctors were unable to stabilize him, some reports said he was placed in an induced coma.
