Lamar Odom flopped in first Euroleague games
Lamar Odom has a lot of work to do if he hopes for an NBA comeback.
In his debut game for Euroleague’s Laboral Kutxa on Feb. 27, the two-time NBA champ only played for six minutes. During that time, he racked up three fouls. He did get two defensive rebounds and one block, but missed his one three-point attempt. In total, he earned a -1 score on the Euroleague’s Performance Index Rating (PIR). The team lost.
In terms of cold numbers, Lamar improved during Sunday’s game — if only because he had more time on the court: In 17-minutes of play, Lamar scored 1-of-7 shots. He got two rebounds, one assist and two steals. That earned him an inferior -4 PIR score. Laboral Kutxa lost again.
In the best seasons of his NBA career, Lamar averaged more than 17 points per game and pulled down nearly 1,000 rebounds.
Following Lamar’s debut game last Thursday, coach Sergio Scariolo told press he was pleased.
“That’s normal at his age after being 10 months out of the game. But he’s left a good impression,” Sergio said, Associated Press reports. “They are typical muscle problems so we just want to be cautious.”
According to multiple reports, Lamar hopes to perform well enough in the Euroleague to launch an NBA comeback — with the big dream of salvaging his marriage with Khloe Kardashian.
