The MTV Movie Awards were held over the weekend and the internet is all abuzz about who got snubbed — not for a Golden Popcorn trophy, but for a “plus one” invite! Teen Mom 2 Jenelle Eason started the brouhaha with an angry tweet expressing her frustration over former Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham getting a “plus one” invite for her daughter Sophia, while Jenelle did not receive a plus one and was told her controversial husband David Eason could not attend.
“P0rn star going to the MTV awards with a plus one but I was invited and [couldn’t] bring David?!” Jenelle wrote in response to a TMZ article about Farrah appearing on the red carpet at the awards show. “She was fired not me…” Jenelle continued, adding: “lmao wowwww” and tagging MTV.
“Kail didn’t have a plus one either,” one tweeter pointed out. “Exactly, none of us got a plus 1,” Jenelle replied. “So I’m very confused.”
That exchange got Kail Lowry’s attention, and she took to Twitter herself to address the whole “plus one” thing. “Everyone is freaking out about how the tm2 cast didn’t get plus 1 for movie awards… but Farrah brought Sophia,” Kail tweeted. “First of all, they always tell us someone can walk the carpet with us but not allowed inside after.” Kail finished with a separate tweet: “And second, Farrah has gotten in and/or invited to way more other shows than us so that’s just the way it goes.”
Things then got a bit confusing as Kail and Jenelle’s Teen Mom 2 co-star Chelsea DeBoer revealed that her husband Cole DeBoer got invited! “Cole got invited….is it just husbands??” Chelsea responded to Kail. “Cause he didn’t get one when we were dating. Either way, we never really cared lol.” Maybe it’s just first husbands who are still married? ?♀️
A David Eason parody account asked Chelsea (with a pre-emptive “all joking aside”) whether or not she has ever been to any of the award shows. “Me?? No!” Chelsea replied. “Maybe someday…but the thought of doing the carpet and everything gives me anxiety ? so idk! I don’t step outside of my comfort zone very often.”
It seems Jenelle has moved on from her outrage as her husband David posted a photo of her living the “sun’s out, buns out” life on a boat with sons Jace and Kaiser this afternoon — the latter of which looks to be living the far less pleasant “life jacket wedgie” life:
“Haters will say it’s ‘set up’,” David captioned the boat booty pic, adding the #letemhate hashtag.
