Farrah Abraham charged in hotel assault, faces up to 18 months in jail
Former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham has been officially charged with battery and resisting an officer stemming from her altercation at The Beverly Hills Hotel early in the AM on June 13.
According to TMZ, the L.A. District Attorney’s Office has filed the two misdemeanor charges against Farrah, and she is facing up to 18 months behind bars if found guilty of both. Of course, this being Farrah’s first offense, plus her ability to hire a good lawyer, means that she has next to zero chance of spending any time in jail — even if convicted on both counts.
Speaking of Farrah being able to hire a good lawyer, a rep tells Radar Online that “she has a lawyer. She has a legal team. It’s going to be fought!”
Farrah also spoke with Radar in the same gallery of photos with captions, and seemed to be in denial about the charges being filed. “That’s false,” she said of the report. “Legally I’m not guilty and I’m charged with nothing! Stop the lies!”
Farrah is scheduled for arraignment on August 13.
In case you missed it, Farrah was arrested at The Beverly Hills Hotel at approximately 1 AM on June 13 after an alleged altercation with guests escalated to include a member of hotel security.
Farrah was booted from the hotel, but things only escalated from there. The security guard told police that Farrah hit him in the face with her forearm, pushed his head, and grabbed his ear while attempting to re-enter the hotel. He reportedly suffered minor injuries that did no require hospital treatment.
A video of Farrah’s arrest was posted online which showed Farrah after she was cuffed outside the hotel, and as she is placed in the police car to be taken to jail and booked. In the video, Farrah can be seen seated on the ground next to a pillar outside the hotel surrounded by police. “So if you want to f**king bulls**t me and if you want to act like I’m not a real adult, go f**k yourself, and go f**k yourself, and go f**k yourself,” Farrah tells police.
Police took Farrah’s wallet as she insisted that she had done nothing wrong. “I did not attack, or batter, or hurt, or injure,” she insists. As she is placed in the cruiser, she began crying as she yelled: “I’m not resisting!” and “You’re hurting me!”
Farrah was later booked on charges of with battery and trespassing, according to police records. She would later post her bail of $500 and was out the following day.
Farrah and her rep both issued statements insisting that there were no charges and that the whole incident had been blown out of proportion. Farrah even went as far as to call out The Beverly Hills Hotel for targeting her and making her feel unsafe. She then accused Beverly Hills police officers of “having power trips and lying and selling stories to TMZ.”
Here is Farrah’s full statement:
Looking great in @prettylittlething – No charges & no jail time , I chose this life and I handle being targeted as a public figure & public punching bag ALL is Fair In Farrah’s world I will never believe the lies that people need to sell to make a dollar off me- Happy it’s all recorded and documented as I should never feel unsafe and be targeted at a hotel I’m staying at The Beverly Hills hotel truly allowed misconduct by staff to a paying guest there’s no need for me or anyone else to be treated this way. The Beverly Hills Police officers should stop having power trips and lying and selling stories to TMZ, while you let all of Beverly Hills be robbed, car break ins, stealing go on… focus on really protecting the public and doing good for Beverly Hills instead of creating made up problems. #farrahabraham
