Sunday night was a good one for veteran actor Kelsey Grammer as he was awarded a Golden Globe for Actor, TV Drama for his role in Boss and he announced the good news that he’s expecting twins with his wife Kayte Walsh. While I would have gone with Cranston in Breaking Bad Grammer has been very good in Boss so kudos to him.
All this should be joyful news of course, but when your wife is a flight attendant for whom you left a spicy Real Housewife of Beverly Hills for it’s never that easy. The Huffington Post is reporting that ex-wife Camille Grammer, who just so happens to be the mother of two of Kelsey’s children, had no idea and was as surprised as the rest of us when the news dropped backstage at the Golden Globes.
A source close to the family stated:
“Camille and the children had no idea. They found out about it from the media. Once again, selfish Kelsey decided to do what’s best for him with no concern for his current children. He needs to stop talking about his private life in public. It’s very hurtful for the children he already has.”
UPDATE: The only problem with the Huffington Post’s report is that Camille herself has said that she’s known about the pregnancy! She tweeted late Tuesday (1-17-12) “I have known for a couple of months, it wasn’t much of a surprise.” However, she did tell Starcasm “I didn’t know it was twins.”
Kelsey and Camille are still sorting through a heated custody fight and haven’t yet finalized the financial details of their official split from last year. Camille told Rob Shuter just days before the announcement that:
“It’s so unfortunate that he still talks about private matters. It’s hurtful to me and its disrespectful to our children. He’s not thinking of the kids when he’s doing stuff like that. My daughter is 10 years old, so she’s able to watch. She’s aware of what’s going on. She hears it from her friends at school, but my son is too young. He’s still only seven. Still, I think it’s disrespectful.”
Camille scored well on our superfan poll of the likability of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. So will this news only bring over more peeps to team Camille? Do you think that Kelsey had an obligation to let Camille and his children know of the news before announcing it to the press?
Most importantly, should ANYONE win a best male actor in a TV drama award other than Bryan Cranston as long as Breaking Bad is on TV!?!
