Real Housewives of New Jersey season 5 premiere date and official cast announced

The cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is heading back to Bravo for it’s fifth season and today, the network revealed the official RHONJ season 5 homepage. On the just-launched page is the upcoming premiere date and time as well as the official cast announcement. Who’s in and who’s out? It’s actually pretty surprising.

REPORT Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 5 cast announced, 2 housewives not returning

When the fourth season of Real Housewives of New Jersey concluded, one thing was clear — none of the cast seemed to have any desire to socialize with Teresa Giudice. She appeared to put off everyone this season, including her former best friend Jacqueline Laurita and her cousin Kathy Wakile, which presented a huge problem for the show’s producers. How were they going to keep Teresa on the show if no one liked her? Should they add new “Team Teresa” cast members? Or should they just bring Danielle Staub back so Teresa once again becomes the lesser of two evils? According to two separate reports today, Bravo decided to do both!

The event was held at Bobby Van’s Steakhouse in New York City and hosted by Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan and her party planning company Sonja In The City.

Tonight on Real Housewives of New Jersey we learned that a little more about Kathy Wakile‘s adorable family. The kids had to sign a contract about their (realistic) promises to stay out of trouble for their parents. 15-year-old son Joseph wrote his contract with the precise language of a lawyer, and informed his parents that although he would not bend his beliefs, part of his believes involve having a few drinks on the weekend when he’s a Junior and Senior. While teenage drinking is extremely dangerous and irresponsible, it’s a sign that Kathy and Richards are good parents that their son feels comfortable enough to be honest with them.

Then we learned that 17-year-old Victoria Wakili had a brain tumor in 2004.

I was really curious what The Real Housewives of New Jersey would be like without “prostitution whore” Danielle Staub, the central figure in most all of the drama in the show’s first two seasons. Now, thanks to a Season 3 preview trailer released today by Bravo, I have a pretty good idea. Actually, the word “pretty” should be nowhere near this post because it looks ugly, ugly, ugly for the Garden State mavens – and I mean that in a good way!
