Tiger Woods car accident

Golf superstar and global icon Tiger Woods is in serious condition after his 2009 Escalade was involved in a single car accident in Central Florida. The Florida State Highway Patrol reports that his vehicle hit a tree not far from his home at 6348 Deacon Circle. While driving on Deacon Circle he reportedly hit a fire hydrant and then a tree.

From CNN:

The one-car accident occurred about 2:25 a.m. in Windermere, a suburb of Orlando, according to an incident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn told CNN that local police arrived within two minutes of being notified. The golfer was taken to Health Central Hospital, where he was treated for facial lacerations and released, Bruhn said.

According to WOFL Orlando, “Troopers said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.”

According to WESH: “A source told WESH 2 News that Woods has been treated for facial lacerations.”

From the Orlando Sentinel:

Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, told USA Today that Woods was fine following the accident.

The airbags in Woods’ Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was traveling under 33 mph, according to FHP.

The news seems to be getting better and better! From CNN again: “A statement from Woods’ publicist and Health Central Hospital called the accident “minor” and said Woods was ‘admitted, treated and released today in good condition.'”

The Associated Press is reporting that Tiger Woods’ wife Elin Nordegren came to her husband’s aid after hearing the accident from inside the couple’s home. She reportedly busted out the back window of Tiger’s SUV and removed him from the vehicle, according to Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor. Saylor goes on to say that Tiger was in and out of consciousness when police arrived on the scene and that he had blood in his mouth as well as lacerations on his lips. First aide was administered for approximately 10 minutes when fire rescue arrived.

Millions of men the world over were already jealous of Tiger’s beautiful bride and that number is sure to increase now! She’s very attractive AND she’ll bust you out of a wrecked car?!? I think I’m even a little green.

OK, the green is fading. According to TMZ Tiger and Elin were arguing just before the accident:

Multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ Tiger Woods’ early morning accident came right after an argument with his wife, Elin Nordegren.

We’re told Elin told cops about the argument at the scene of the accident and Tiger gave the same story to authorities at the hospital where he was treated.

One Florida law enforcement official called it “a domestic issue.”

In fact, it looks like Elin actually scratched up Tiger BEFORE he crashed his car, and that she wasn’t “rescuing” him with a gold club, she was just beating his car.

I found the actual Tiger Woods accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
