Beavis and Butt-head to return to MTV

Uhhh, this post might like take some time.  The legendary dynamic duo of do nothings from the 90’s, Beavis and Butt-head, will be returning to MTV with 30 confirmed new episodes!  What is even more exciting is the special twist that will accompany this version of the show for slackers.  That special twist will be… absolutely nothing.

The new shows will be just like the old ones, Beavis and Butt-head accomplishing not much with creator Mike Judge once again voicing the Metallica and AC-DC t-shirt sporting pair.  This prodigal return will be a means by which Music Television can return to showing, wait for it, music videos!  The show made it’s original appearance on MTV as a short for the animated series Liquid Television in 1993.

This was the first instance of Judge being able to encapsulate the vibe of American youth through his creativity.  Beavis and Butt-head became such a phenomenon that it spawned a major motion picture: Beavis and Butt-head do America.  Judge went on to create King of the Hill for Fox which has some of the most well developed characters in animated television history.  Along with Hill he directed the cinematic masterpiece Office Space which is one of the more relatable movies to the most people that I can think of.

Here are two highlights of the show that became a cultural phenomenon:

Beavis and Butt-head on Letterman:

Bevis and Butt-head, the power of the beard:

So will these two morons climb back to the top of the pop-culture mountain and how will it play out with the current MTV audience used to The Hills and Jersey Shore?  I may be biased and a little older but I think that kids are gonna like think its uhhhh like good or something and they may even enjoy music videos again.
