AUDIO Maci Bookout responds to Farrah Abraham’s sex tape
Last week Farrah Abraham got into a war of words with former Teen Mom cast mate Catelynn Lowell, but the usually talkative Maci Bookout has remained completely silent on the whole thing… until now! Maci opened up BIG TIME while appearing as a guest on the Malone’s Hype Line on Blog Talk Radio Friday, and some of what she had to say may surprise you!
Here’s the full show. Maci is asked about the Farrah Abraham video right around the 52:20 mark:
And here’s a transcript of the Q&A:
DJ Malone: So Maci, let me ask you this now. You talk to most of the girls and everything, so whenever you see — and I don’t know if you feel like talking about this, but the Farrah situation, do you think that’s messed up? Or is the media blowing it out of proportion? What are your thoughts on that?
Maci: Aw man, this is such a hard one. [that’s what she said] I have yet to comment on this. Ummm… Oh jeez. I’ll say this, OK? I would never, ever do what she did, but … I know her very well and I just want the best for her. If she wants to do that, that’s perfectly fine. I mean, I’m not going to lie, I watched the trailer for it and I can’t say that I hated it. But, at the same time, I feel like if that’s what she wanted to do that’s perfectly fine, and I hope everything’s going well for her …
I want her to be able to handle the bad publicity or the bad critics that she’s going to get from it. I don’t want those things to break her down … I don’t want her to be unhappy or hurt because of what’s going to come from that.
But at the same time, one thing that I am upset about is that Teen Mom being in the title, for that kind of irritates me because it was her decision, and that’s what she wanted to do and that’s fine (I hope it works out for her), but I don’t like that Teen Mom is in the title because I really kind of feel like that kind of falls off on me … I don’t want to say I don’t want to be associated with that because I do know her very well and I was a part of her cast, but at the same time when Teen Mom is a part of that, it kind of falls on everyone else that was on Teen Mom. So that’s the only thing that irritates me about it is that I would just rather separate myself from [that]. I mean I’m never going to do a sex tape or porn or whatever anybody wants to call it, but, I mean hell, more luck to her, she made a lot of money off of it!” (laughs)
[DJ Malone likens it to one of his DJ company employees doing something disreputable and how that would reflect on his business and Maci agrees.]
Maci: That’s exactly how I feel about it. Like I said, I don’t want … her to let any of the negative stuff affect her because, I mean she made that decision and she has to deal with it, but I want her to be able to push through it and get through it. But at the same time, when people see that, and they see Backdoor Teen Mom, the title of it, and then maybe they thought about booking me for a speaking engagement, or maybe they thought about booking me for a talk show, but then they don’t want to anymore because people might think that everyone of Teen Mom as, like we all did a sex tape or we all did that, and that’s just not something that I would ever do, so that’s what irritates me is that I feel like even though I have nothing to do with it, I feel like I’m still kind of incorporated in that franchise, and that’s no longer a part of me. Teen Mom is over. I’ve moved on, and I’m doing my own thing now, but now I feel like that’s always going to be branded on me … I feel like 85 percent of the time, it’s going to be like, ‘Oh my God, that’s the girl that did that sex tape.’ Anything like that, I just, I don’t want to deal with the negative part of it.
Now we all just sit back and see what Farrah says – if anything.
