It was revealed last week that Kate Plus 8 (and Celebrity Apprentice) star Kate Gosselin is reportedly dating stock photography millionaire Jeff Prescott, a 51-year-old fellow divorcée and father of three. And not only do Jeff and Kate have a divorce in common, but according to court documents, they also share the facts that their splits were anything but amicable.
The court documents from Jeff Prescott (Jeffrey Jones) and then-wife of 19 years, Michelle Jones, were obtained by In Touch and the site published one page of Michelle’s deposition, which includes allegations of domestic violence. Michelle begins her deposition by stating she and Jeff were married on June 27, 1987 in Yarmouth, Massachusetts and that they separated on or about October 1, 2005. She later adds:
On or January 19, 2006, my husband asked me to fly to Tennessee in an attempt to reconcile and to look at a new home in that area. Within hours of my arrival on January 21, 2006, my husband and I had an argument. I left and obtained a room at the Hilton. At approximately, 1:00 a.m. he came to my room at the Hilton smashing on the door. I allowed him to enter and he threw me against the wall. He put both hands around my neck and told me “I will f… kill you.” I called security. He threatened me again told me he knew “more people in this town.” Thereafter he left. I flew back to Massachusetts the next day.
Michelle also shares details about a previous incident in 2005 in which police were called to the couple’s Barnstable, Massachusetts home after Jeff had allegedly flown into a jealous rage.
In Touch says Jeff refuted the claims and made his own allegations against Michelle in court documents which were not shared on the website.
The fallout from the divorce has continued through the years with the couple “squabbling (via attorneys) over petty concerns as recently as last July,” according to In Touch. Despite the drawn out legal issues, Michelle’s attorney, Sean Igoe, tells the tabloid that the two former spouses “get along quite well.”
In the deposition document Michelle also shares details about the couples three children: Ashley (now 26), Brooke (now 23) and Connor (now 19). Michelle reveals that their oldest daughter, Ashley, was born deaf and suffers from Usher’s Syndrome, which I’m sure was what motivated Jeff to head up the Deaf Children’s Foundation.
