The story of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s pending divorce broke on Friday, so this week we see the first wave of tabloid cover stories about the split. Normally we don’t see the covers until Wednesday, but with the combination of a universally hot blockbuster story and tomorrow being the Fourth of July (purely speculation on my part), we have all of the cover images a day early (except OK! for some reason). As you might expect, the TomKatastrophe is on the cover of every one, although three chose to delegate the biggest celebrity break up story since Prince Charles and Princess Diana to a secondary role behind “Jessica Simpson’s Diet Disaster,” “Best and Worst beach Bodies” and “The Queen Humiliates Kate Middleton.”
