VIDEO Conan officiates on-air gay wedding, Andy Cohen walks groom down aisle

Conan O'Brien officiates a gay wedding on TV

Last night Conan O’Brien made a little TV history by officiating a same-sex marriage between his costume designer Scott Cronick and his partner David Gorshein.

The ceremony took place at the Beacon Theater in New York City where O’Brien is currently filming his show in celebration of one year at the helm with TBS. Conan just so happens to be an ordained minister and he took his important job seriously as he made the marriage between Cronick and Gorshein official.

Here is the clip, make sure to take notice of the Bravolebrity who walks Scott down the aisle:

That’s right peeps, it was none other than Andy Cohen escorting Scott, who wore a metallic-flecked suit of his own design, to the altar. Cohen received a lot of tweets about it and made the following joke after the event:

What was surprising to me about the clip was how emotional and real it was even in spite of being on-air and in front of a live studio audience. It’s obvious that these two people are very much in love and I wish them all the best.  It’s a lot of work as my wife and I can testify to but if they remember their promises they’ll do just fine.

During an exchange of personal vows David told Scott:

“You are my everything, you are my love… no one is happier than I am to wear this ring and put this ring on your finger. I love you so much, you are my everything.”

Conan pronounced them husband and husband and the rest, as they say, is history. Mazel Tov!
