Miley Cyrus has been dating Australian actor Liam Hemsworth since meeting on the set of The Last Song in July of 2009, and while things are obviously serious with them by now, fans didn’t quite realize just how serious these two were until Miley set the record straight in an all new interview with Cosmopolitan Magazine.
Last month, rumors surfaced that they had tied the knot after a couple of photos were posted to Instagram of the two sporting what looked to be wedding bands, but since Miley never confirmed the reports, they sort of went away — until now.
In Cosmopolitan Magazine‘s March 2013 issues, Miley comes clean about her relationship and announces that she and Liam are married.

When the magazine points out her impressive dating history which includes the likes of Nick Jonas and Justin Gaston, Miley says, “I know, right? I’m happy I don’t have to date anymore though. All my friends are guys, so I hear the sh*t guys say about dating. One guy called me and said, ‘Miley, I don’t know what to do — this girl won’t leave my house. It’s 6:00 and I have a blind date at 6:30.’ And I was like, ‘I’m so happy I’m married, because you guys are cruel!’”
UPDATE – Liam Hemsworth’s rep has issued a statement saying Liam and Miley are “definitely not married.” Multiple media outlets have reached out to Miley’s rep for comment, but so far there has been no response.
In addition to her relationship security, Miley’s also quite pleased with her husband’s good looks. “I’ll literally look at him and [will] be like ‘You are hot, dear god,'” she admits. “The other day, I turned on the pool heater and it was steaming, and he walked outside and took off his clothes and jumped in the pool. I was like, ‘I’m gonna faint – the hottest guy of my life is in a steaming pool. This looks like a Playgirl shoot.’ So I took a photo and made it the background on my phone. My best friend grabbed my phone and was like, ‘Who’s that? He is so hot!’ That’s my hubby!”
Miley and Liam’s relationship was a bit on-and-off for the first couple of years with the pair splitting both in August of 2010 and again in November of 2010, but things settled down between them in 2011 and Liam proposed to Miley on May 31, 2012 (with a 3.5 carat diamond ring by Neil Lane).
While it seems clear that these two have made things official, Miley does hint at a possible follow-up wedding — but it won’t be anything elaborate. “I can’t even get coffee without a million paparazzi following me, so I don’t know why anyone think I’m going to have this huge, extravagant wedding,” she explains. “That is so not who I am.”
It’s unclear when Miley and Liam actually tied the knot but since Liam told the crowd at the Australians In Film Awards & Benefit Dinner that they were married back in June of last year, it may have been a while ago!
