Kim Kardashian and her fiance Kris Humphries have emerged in person at Amber Fashion Show at the Meridien Beach Plaza hotel in Monte Carlo, Monaco.after they successfully conquered the U.S media with news of their engagement, Kim’s 20.5 carat $2 million ring, and plans to televise their wedding. Sister Khloe Kardashian even went so far as to say it’s going to be the Royal Wedding 2.0: bigger and better. On the surface that claim seems a little off-the-mark, but the two things are really THAT different.
The Royal Wedding was a big fluffy deal because its players are involved in the remnants of former monarchy government system upon which the Western world built their fairytales and romantic ideals (to put it simply). The Kardashians are famous because one of the sisters has a voluptuous booty, had a sex tape “leak”, and they all monopolized on that seed of fame by sharing a great deal of their lives (and bodies) on reality TV and with the media. But nobody builds their romantic ideal around the Kardashians . . . or do they?
Khloe’s wedding to Lamar Odom was featured on a finale episode of their flagship show Keeping Up With The Kardashians on E!, and it broke a ratings record for the Network with 3.2 million. That was almost two years ago. Since then the Kardashians have gotten even more famous, especially Kim. This could very well be a bonanza for the network.
