American Pickers’ Danielle Colby to perform burlesque at Farmageddon concert

It’s been a little while since we’ve updated you on what television’s sexiest office manager is up to! As we mentioned in a previous post, American Pickers’ Danielle Colby Cushman is not only a burlesque dancin’ and roller derbyin’ kit shicker, but she’s also a huge fan of alternative country and roots music. She has really close ties to the fine folks at Farmageddon Records and she helped spearhead a CD release to raise funds for the label, complete with an autographed booklet of Danielle herself in all sorts of wild and fun retro photos by Amy Richmond.

Danielle’s dedication to the cause doesn’t end there! She and the girls from her burlesque dance troupe, Burlesque le Moustache, will be performing at the official CD release party to be held at Skellington Manor in Rock Island, Illinois on Friday, April 29! And of course there will be lots of live gut-punchin’ roots music from the likes of Highlonesome, Graham Lindsey, James Hunnicutt and The Last False Hope.

And just in case my sales pitch wasn’t enough, Danielle had this to say about the show:

O! Yeah…. That’s happening! You will NOT want to miss this line up!!! It is like the equivalent to a unicorn and a Pegasus mating under the light of a lunar Eclipse…. I might cry….

It appears as though tickets will soon be available for purchase at the Skellington Manor web site. (If someone knows anything different let us know and I’ll update the post)

Anyways, in honor of Danielle’s efforts I’d like to dedicate this next song to her and Farmageddon Records. It’s from 1974, right about the time some other hardcore roots country performers were staging their own “save country music” concerts down in Texas at a place called Armadillo World Headquarters. Here’s pre-braids Willie Nelson setting fire to the flammable Bob Wills tune “Stay All Night, Stay A Little Longer,” which is exactly what you should do in Rock Island on April 29!

By the way, if anyone in the Chicago area has a van and wants to help save country music, you can star by giving Last False Hope a ride to the show! From their Facebook fan page: “Does anyone in the Chicago are have a van and want to drive us to Rock Island on April 29th and Madison April 30th? We promise you a party and a good time.” Willie would want you to help!

Oh, and check out the autographed photos of Danielle taken by her dad! (Each purchase helps fund his battle with Leukemia)
