The real OG of Teen Mom OG is a free man! Tyler Baltierra’s dad Butch Baltierra is out of prison, and Tyler was there to meet him after not seeing his dad for four years.
“At the parole office waiting for my pops to get out,” Tyler wrote on Instagram Friday, while also sharing a selfie. “It’s been 4 years since I have seen him & words can’t describe how happy I am that he will make it to my wedding! He has missed way too many important days of my life…I’m happy to say that my wedding will NOT be one of those days!”
Tyler added the hash tags #ButchIsFree #PopsIsOut and #HappySon.
Friday night he shared the photo at the top of this post of Butch in a tuxedo looking damn sharp and captioned it proudly: “Look at my pops all jazzed up! First time ever being in a tux…I gotta tell ya, I really missed having him around. It’s good to have him home #ButchIsFree #PopsIsOut.”
Amazing. Just amazing. The last time we checked in with Butch his maximum release date was listed as July 25, 2026. It seems he has managed an early release, which is always a good sign.
Tyler has been through SO much since the last time he saw his dad–including some cathartic moments with Dr. Jenn Mann on Couples Therapy, in which he revealed some of his most traumatic memories of Butch.
Meanwhile, Butch has been locked away for years. Hopefully, he’s also come to terms with a lot of the bad things he has done, and how poorly he has treated those close to him.
It’s not likely, but it is a possible, set up for an incredible happy ending, and I hope we all get to see it play out on the next season of Teen Mom OG. Stay tuned!
