Can Clay Aiken go from American Idol to America policymaker?
The North Carolina crooner and American Idol runner-up is said to be “actively considering” a run for Congress in his home state of North Carolina.
The Washington Blade is reporting that the 35-year-old has been doing the leg work required, including placing calls to gauge support and talking to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee about a possible bid.
No one would confirm or deny the reports when contacted. The outspoken advocate of LGBT issues has until February 28 to file.
