The New Girl star Zooey Descanel and Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard have officially divorced.
The news was announced way back in January that Zooey had filed divorce papers citing “irreconcilable differences.” The two were married in 2009 and have no children. In case you’re wondering, the no children part is something Zooey seems to be just fine with.
The divorce decree was signed off on by a judge December 12.
Neither Ben nor Zooey sought spousal support. Death Cab for Cutie has been a long time staple in the indie music scene and Zooey does quite all right herself, being notoriously frugal with what she does bring in. When their split was first announced earlier this year, a detailed report of what Zooey pulled in at the time, and what she spent was released.
At the time she made $95,000 a month and spends $22,500 on clothes, her mortgage, health care, and other personal expenses, and gave 1,500 each month to charity; leaving quite a sizable chunk to save.
