Why was Kanye West hospitalized? Doctor reportedly admitted him for sleep deprivation
It’s been a crazier-than-usual week for controversial rapper and viral sound bite genius Kanye West as he followed up his headline-grabbing concert rant retroactively endorsing Donald Trump with another concert rant chastising Jay Z and Beyonce for not returning his calls. Earlier today it was announced that he had cancelled all the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo Tour, and it has since been revealed that he is currently under observation in a Los Angeles hospital!
The world’s leading Kardashianologists over at TMZ were told by “law enforcement sources” that “cops responded to a call for a welfare check on Kanye around 1:20 PM PT. He wasn’t at his home at the time. We’re told paramedics also responded and ended up transporting Kanye to the hospital by ambulance.”
The site continues: “Sources connected to Kanye tell us he was getting checked out by one of his doctors for severe sleep deprivation when someone — possibly the physician — decided he needed to be admitted.”
Perhaps that someone was Kanye’s new bestie, our POTUS elect?
NBC News confirms most of the TMZ report explaining why Kanye was hospitalized and emphasizes that there was “no criminal activity was involved.” Sources reveal to them that “the decision to hospitalize West at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center was for his own health and safety.”
The statement from Kanye’s rep announcing the tour cancellation shed no further light on things. “The remaining dates on the Saint Pablo Tour have been canceled,” the rep said. “Tickets will be fully refunded at point of purchase.”
When I first heard of the tour cancellation I thought perhaps it was because Kanye West needed time to prepare after being informed that Donald Trump wanted him in his cabinet. Now I’m beginning to think that doctors will soon run all of the right tests and discover that it is simply an overly enlarged ego. Unfortunately, I don’t think they have a surgery for that. (To be honest, I thought the doctors of comedy over at South Park had performed the procedure years ago, but it seems that the reduction was only temporary.)
All joking aside, of course we hope Kanye is feeling better soon and able to get some rest. (If you’re reading this Jay Z, I think returning Kanye’s calls might help the poor man get some rest!) (Welcome to the “99 Club” Kanye!)
