What do you think of the Beyonce and Jay-Z twins’ names?

About a week after Beyonce gave birth to twins with husband Jay-Z TMZ has the scope on what their names probably are. According to legal documents from the same company that filed for a trademark for Blue Ivy earlier this year, it seems likely that the twins’ names are . . .

Rumi Carter and Sir Carter.

Rumi obviously is a nod to the 13th century poet, but what does is Sir a reference to?

TMZ posits that it’s from a line of Rumi’s poetry, but that seems like a stretch. Romper speculates that because Sir is a Catalan form of Syrus, or Cyrus, which can mean “throne,” then Sir is an adknolwedgement of Jay-Z’s album Watch the Throne.

Whatever it means, it was a smart move to go ahead with the trademark on the names right away because they are currently in a fierce legal battle over using the name Blue Ivy to sell merchandise. The trademarks are reportedly filed for fragrances, cosmetics, key chains, baby teething rings, strollers, mugs, water bottles, hair ribbons, playing cards, tote bags, sports balls, rattles and novelty items.
