VIDEO Oregon football player LeGarrette Blount punches Boise State’s Byron Hout and attacks crowd!
Check out this video of Oregon University football player LeGarrette Blount punching Boise State’s Byron Hout after the Number 14 Boise State Broncos defeated the Number 16 Oregon Ducks on Thursday night. And afterward, Blount has to be restrained from going into the crowd as Boise State fans taunt him coming off the field!
In Blount’s defense (if there is one), Hout seemed to be taunting him about the victory prior to eating the knuckle sandwich. It’s funny, but in the testosteronial morality of male athletics, if Blount had just been cool about it and not gone after the fans as well this might have been an actual debate. If your team just beat another team and you’re “Nyah nyah boo boo”-ing him face to face (but with actual vulgarity and probably references involving his mother) then man-law says that a single, retaliatory fist to the mug can be justified. I’m just sayin’.
In response to the incident after the game, ESPN reports that Blount had this to say, “I should have handled that situation a lot better than I did. I apologize. We will never have a game like this again. … The game, as it went on, just got more frustrating and more frustrating for me in general. I shouldn’t have said anything. I shouldn’t have done anything.”
