VIDEO Ed Sheeran falls on his face during opening night of Taylor Swift’s tour

Ed Sheeran is one of the many men to have been linked to Taylor Swift — but there’s much more to this guy. Ed has a successful singing career of his own. He even collaborated with Taylor on “Everything Has Changed” for her new album, so it’s no surprise that he’s opening for Taylor during her RED tour. On Wednesday night, the tour kicked off in Omaha, Nebraska and Ed definitely made a lasting impression.

It all went down during Wednesday night’s sold-out concert at CenturyLink Center. Ed was singing his hit “You Need Me” and jumping back and forth from speaker to speaker trying to get the crowd pumped up. Moments into his jumping extravaganza, Ed lost his footing and fell to the grown.

Luckily, Ed wasn’t injured (except for his pride, maybe) in the incident and kept the show moving on as planned. How’s that for an opening night entrance?

Rumors have swirled regarding Taylor and Ed’s relationship for a while now but were refueled last month after Ed was spotted leaving her hotel room in the wee hours of the morning.

In a recent interview with New Zealand’s TVNZ, Ed addressed the rumors surrounding his and Swift’s relationship. “I did stay there ’til four and I did leave in the same clothes, but I was playing her my new record. It was strictly that kind of thing. Literally, I went in there and we passed the guitar back and forth and played songs to each other.”

“The thing that impressed me with the media is that because they wrote about it, my mates believed it. And my mates are texting me being like, ‘Is it true?'” Ed explained. “So I said it wasn’t but the fact that people can believe it makes me feel like a bit of a stud, you know?”

“I’ve got to be honest because one of my best friends [Styles, 18] did date her. I’m not that kind of guy. But the fact that people believed it impressed me a little bit.”
